There is no right answer because love is not empirical . It is relative to the giver , receiver and observer . What you think is a loving decision may not be how someone else would choose love , and so trying to make choices based off  of someone else's definition will always leave you fearful of screwing it up and when you get it "right" you'll more often than not breath of sigh of relief instead of an exclamation of celebration .

So choose love for you , the best you know how . Choose love with everything you've got , in every moment . Trust that every time you do that , you'll learn how to love those around you even better .

And you'll have never stopped loving yourself along the way .
